PEAKE delivers Hostage Negotiation Vehicle to Baltimore County Police Department

PEAKE recently upfitted a 2015 Sprinter Van for the Baltimore County Police Department Hostage Negotiation Team providing the group with a Hostage Negotiation Vehicle. This vehicle provides BCPD with a mobile platform for hostage and crisis negotiation. Layout of the vehicle includes four workstations in two areas that can be partitioned off. Integrated into the vehicle’s communication network is a Direct Link Crisis “Throw Phone”, IP Phones system, LTE connectivity and a video streaming system.Details of the PEAKE Specialty Vehicle division conversion for this vehicle included:Interior

• Walls, doors, and ceiling insulated and covered with gray acoustical material over 3/8” ply
• Main cabin workstations including overhead storage, 1 file drawer/parts drawer cabinet, 2 Herman Miller seats on sliding bases, and white board with latch and piston hold open
• Rear compartment workstations include laminate counter with PVC bumper strip edging and 2 Herman Miller seats on sliding bases, one each work station
• Storage solutions include control and equipment rack cabinet, overhead storage above work station, and storage bench for gear, equipment and cable buckets.
• Interior LED red/white lighting in main cabin, rear compartment, and workstations

Exterior

• Electric operated awning with black cover, long enough to extend past sliding door when open to cover exterior monitor
• Exterior cable access, located street side behind Throw Phone
• 8 NMO mounts with tethered weather caps, located on the roof with weatherproof access to interior
• Multiple red/white/blue emergency and scene lighting located on windshield, headlights, corner flashers, grille, and side warning with additional Whelen #295SLSA6 siren and light controller
• Electrical 12 Volt DC
• OEM auxiliary battery system wired to inverter, lighting, and 12 volt connections
• Power distribution located in control panel area includes breakers, switches, controls and meters
• 10 lighter style power points, 9 USB style power points
• Electrical 120 Volt ACOutback l.5KW Ruggedized Inverter, located in rear compartment wired to auxiliary battery system
• 2 shore lines located street side
• 120 Volt Wiring: power distribution, battery charger, duplex outlets, exterior outlets

Technology

• Equipment rack in rear compartment with TripLite network panel and Internal patch panel in rack
• Exterior connection panel with R/Y/W connection wired to “Throw Phone” at the forward street side counter HDMI to connections
• Interior 10 RJ45 connectors wired to equipment rack
• 2 PC, 2 Laptops, and 5 LCD monitors
• Communication board to enable the rear operator room to front Coach location-handwriting application
• 4 Cisco IP phones, one per operator with 4G Cradelpoint and AGM node for integration into system
• Additional tech installations included video server for streaming video to command center, fax machine, and customer-supplied LMR radios
• Safety Equipment
• Carbon Monoxide Detector located on ceiling
• One 51b Halotron fire ext. in the rear cabin
